NCAA Football to the Rescue

So after the putrid performance last week, I have gambled away all of my winnings and am back to an even $0. Things could always be worse, like the volume of posts we put up this week.  Please accept our most insincere apologies.  We will try to bounce back this week, even with a shaky confidence:
-USC -3.5 at Oregon St. (I don’t like the way the Beavers have been playing, with terrible losses to UCLA and Wazzu.  The rain expected may keep it close in Corvallis initially, a long td pass from Barkley will open it up)
-Ark. at MSU OVER 53 (If Greg McElroy can have a day passing, just wait for Mallett.  He is too good not to put up numbers)
-KSU -2.5 at Colorado (too much D. Thomas makes the difference.  Look for a big day from him)
-ECU -9 at Rice (No chance the lowly Owls can keep up td for td)
-Tulsa vs. UTEP OVER 58 (The Golden Hurricane at home means points)

And if you’re Cised to make a bet/feeling a tad bit randy and would like to get after it, take a gander at these:
Utah St. -2.5 vs. Idaho (5th graders all over the nation ask this question, is it Idaho or Udaho?  The Vandals look in the mirror and understand their realization)
-Marshall at SMU OVER 48.5
-S Miss -4 vs. Houston (Golden Eagles play at home under the lights.  If they can get through all of the emotion following the shooting of three players and one severed spinal cord, watch out Houston)
-NC State +2.5 at UNC (No real reason, just think Wilson is due for a big game, a la the espn guy.  Just a hunch)
-Illlinois -8 vs. Northwestern at Wrigley (Without Persa, the Wildcats offense will sputter.  That and the bizzaro half field they are playing on, so weird)

-Neb. -2.5 at A&M (Corso’s boy, kicker/punter Alex Henry, will be the difference.  On a side note, how funny was Pelini’s quote about the 12th man’s 20-30,000 people pep rally, bon-fire Friday nights, “Our fans are better than the Aggie fans,” Pelini said. “They [A&M] have a good culture around their program. They support it well. They’re into it. It’s a unique environment. I don’t know what they call that, I know they have some type of thing on Friday night, like cheer practice or whatever, so there are certain unique traditions with every program, and I think they have their own.”  Lets hope that doesn’t fire up the 12th man.)

And my game of the week:
-UL-Monroe -1 vs. North Texas
“The Mean Green have won two of three under interim head coach Mike Canales, and have largely done it behind Lance Dunbar, who has combined for 677 yards and six touchdowns rushing and receiving. ULM has to win this to keep bowl hopes alive, and is unbeaten at home. Kolton Browning had thrown for 200 yards in eight straight games before that streak ended last week against LSU.”-espn.com.  The Warhawks also just extended their coaches contracts and can lead them to 1st ever bowl with home wins to close the season.
